1969
IDC Corporation was founded
The family-owned company started out designing and building controls panels, circuit boards, strain gauges, and tonnage monitors for Ford, GM, and Chrysler. IDC also provided designs for monitoring wastewater treatment plants across Michigan, a service we still provide today.
2001
IDC entered the world of
Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs)
In the 1990s, AGV technology began to take off in a variety of industrial settings. In 2001, our team began designing and implementing basic AGVs for our customers.
2008
U.S. Recession Causes IDC to Change Course
The automotive industry crisis during the 2008 Great Recession led to a decrease in demand for gauges and tonnage monitors from large automotive manufacturers. At this time, the IDC team made an internal shift to focus on AGV design and implementation.
2018
IDC begins designing and building in-house AGVs
After a decade of growth and development, IDC shifted to in-house design, development, and implementation of our custom-built AGVs for our customers.
